Overview

1DevTool is a desktop application with iOS and Android companion apps, built by StoicSoft. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

Data We Collect

1DevTool (Desktop App): The desktop application runs entirely on your local machine. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your code, terminal sessions, or project data.

This Website: We use privacy-focused analytics (Plausible) to understand how visitors use this website. No personal data or cookies are used for tracking.

Waitlist: If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address to notify you about product updates. We will never sell or share your email with third parties.

1DevTool for iOS and Android

The iOS and Android apps contain no analytics, advertising or tracking, and do not sell or share personal data. Hosts, settings and paired desktops are stored on your device; passwords and private keys are kept in the iOS Keychain or protected by the Android Keystore. Traffic between the app and your 1DevTool Desktop is end-to-end encrypted; when the StoicSoft relay is used it only forwards encrypted bytes it cannot read.

Push notifications: If you allow notifications, the app registers its push token (Apple Push Notification service on iOS, Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android) with StoicSoft's push server (push.stoicsoft.com) and receives a random device secret. For each paired desktop the server issues a ticket the desktop uses to request a push. Notification text is encrypted by your desktop with a key that only your phone and that desktop hold; the push server, Apple and Google only see ciphertext. The server stores the push token and hashed secrets and tickets, keeps no request logs, and deletes your device's entry when Apple or Google reports its token invalid or when you turn push off; unpairing a desktop deletes that desktop's ticket. You can turn push off in the app's Settings or in 1DevTool Desktop.

Camera: The camera is used only to scan the pairing QR code and to take photos you choose to attach to a session.

Third-Party Services

  • Gumroad: Payments are processed by Gumroad. Please review their privacy policy for payment data handling.
  • Email Service: We use ConvertKit or Mailchimp to manage our email list.
