Terminal Context Menu Settings

Decide what a terminal's right-click menu does: turn it off entirely, stop text selection from popping it up, or hide individual items. Settings → Terminal → Context Menu controls it, and Context Menu Settings… always stays at the bottom so the way back is never hidden.

Why You Need This

How this feature boosts your daily productivity

A terminal's context menu gets in the way when it does more than you use: a menu that pops up after every text selection interrupts a quick copy, and Send to AI, Add task and a row of Copy ID entries are noise if you never touch them. The Context Menu tab lets you keep only what you use — or no menu at all — without losing the way back, because Context Menu Settings… can never be turned off.

How It Works

Get started in 4 simple steps

Open the Context Menu tab

Go to Settings → Terminal → Context Menu, or pick Context Menu Settings… at the bottom of any terminal's right-click menu.

Keep or drop the menu

Show context menu on right-click is on by default. Turn it off and neither right-clicking a pane nor clicking a link opens a menu.

Quiet text selection

Turn off Show menu after selecting text so a drag just selects; right-click still opens the menu.

Pick the items

Under Menu items, toggle Copy, Look Up selection, Paste, Send to AI, Add task, File actions, Set Title… and the Copy Session, Terminal and Pane ID entries.
