What changed
New features
17- Launch Grok as a built-in AI agent — Grok (xAI) now appears alongside other AI agents in terminal launchers, settings visibility, command detection, and empty-workspace quick actions
- Grok terminals use the same AI prompt handling, headless prompt mode, and sub-agent detection as other supported agents
- Resume earlier Grok conversations from Resume AI Sessions, with titles, previews, project folders, branches, and activity times
- Delegate work to and from Grok — orchestrated agent handoffs can now target Grok, and Grok can act as a host that delegates to other AI coding tools
- Split the editor into side-by-side groups — open files in up to four editor groups and drag the dividers to resize them
- Keep the same file open in more than one group at once
- Empty groups close on their own, so the layout stays tidy as you close files
- Collapse the terminal section — hide the terminals below the editor with a header toggle or Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+J, and bring them back instantly
- Terminals keep running while hidden, so nothing is lost or restarted
- Resize the vertical tab list — in the vertical-tabs terminal layout, drag the tab sidebar to your preferred width and double-click the handle to reset it
- The width is remembered per project
- Auto-name AI terminal tabs — AI terminal tabs now rename themselves to the current session title, while tabs you renamed by hand stay untouched
- Switch and create branches from the status bar — the redesigned branch picker groups your most recently used branches with relative dates, so the ones you actually work on are right at the top
- Create a new branch inline, fetch and sync, and jump to worktrees without leaving the picker
- Schedule Agent Input prompts from your phone — Remote Control can now send a prompt later using a timer, a specific time, or the next quota reset, matching the desktop scheduling flow
- Scheduled prompts keep the same attachment and agent handoff behavior as a normal send
- Confirm terminal sessions before quitting — a new in-app quit dialog lets you Save, Discard, or Cancel when open terminal sessions would be lost, and shows how many shell and AI sessions are affected
Improvements
3- Only offer agents that are ready to run — the empty-workspace launcher now shows the agents you have set up (built-ins you kept visible plus your saved custom agents) and hides ones that still need a CLI install, so every card launches cleanly
- Steadier Agent Input prompt sending — reworked the prompt composer for more consistent behavior when sending, submitting, and switching between AI agents
- Recognize more agent models in the tab model chip — the model shown on AI terminal tabs updates more reliably across supported agents
Bug fixes
2- Fixed Windows sending cut-off prompts — pasting long or multi-line text into an AI prompt on Windows no longer submits an incomplete message, and the full text now arrives before it sends
- Fixed AI terminal tabs keeping stale names — tabs now follow the active session title instead of holding an outdated name
