Terminals Inside Reader Mode
Dock any of your project's terminals to the side of Reader Mode and keep a real, live terminal — full output, scrollback, and Agent Input — running next to the Markdown file you're reading. Close the dock and your scrollback hands back cleanly to its original tab.

Why You Need This
How this feature boosts your daily productivity
Reader Mode is the best way to work through a long plan or design doc, but until now the moment you needed to run a command you had to leave it and lose your place. Docking a live terminal beside the page lets you run commands and prompt AI agents without dropping out of the reading view — and because it is the real terminal, not a copy, your output, scrollback, and Agent Input all come with it.
How It Works
Get started in 4 simple steps
Open a Markdown file in Reader Mode
Enter Reader Mode on any Markdown document for the clean, book-like reading view with a contents outline and reading-time estimate.
Click Terminals in the header
The new Terminals button lists the project's terminals; pick one to dock it beside the page, or create a new terminal right from the dock.
Run and prompt without leaving
The docked terminal is live — run commands, watch full output and scrollback, and use Agent Input to prompt an AI agent while the document stays open.
Close the dock cleanly
Closing the dock returns the terminal and its scrollback to its original tab, so nothing is lost and you keep your place in the document.

Why It Matters
The productivity impact of having terminal & ai agents built into your workspace
Read Without the Exit
Run a command or fire a prompt without dropping out of Reader Mode, so a long review stays a review instead of a window-switching chore.
The Real Terminal, Not a Copy
Full output, scrollback, and Agent Input come with the dock, so it behaves exactly like the terminal you already had.
Nothing Lost on Close
Closing the dock hands scrollback back to its original tab cleanly, so you never trade your place for a peek at the terminal.
Prompt From the Page
Push back on a passage by typing straight into the docked Agent Input while the document stays open in front of you.
