Prompt Templates
Reuse your favorite AI instructions without retyping them. Prompt Templates is a library you build in Settings, then enable per terminal to append on send or drop in at the cursor with an @ mention.

Why You Need This
How this feature boosts your daily productivity
The instructions you want on every task — find the root cause first, run the tests after, keep the diff small — never change, but retyping them each session does. Prompt Templates stores those standing instructions once and attaches them to the terminals that need them, so you write only the task and the guardrails come along automatically.
How It Works
Get started in 4 simple steps
Build the library
In Settings → AI → Prompt Templates, type an instruction into the New prompt template field and press ⌘↵ or click Add template. Each one is stored as a reusable sentence.
Set each template Available or Hidden
Every template has a status you control — Available templates are ready to use, Hidden ones stay in the list but out of the way — and a counter tracks how many of each you have.
Enable them per terminal
From the Agent Input overlay, each AI terminal picks which available templates are active. When you send, the active ones are appended to your message and the editor text is left untouched.
Insert one with @
Type @ in Agent Input, open the Templates tab beside Files and Agents, and insert a template at the cursor — ↑↓ to navigate, ↵ to insert.

Why It Matters
The productivity impact of having ai productivity built into your workspace
Write the Constant Part Once
The guardrails you want on every task never change — store them once instead of retyping them each session.
Right Rules, Right Terminal
Templates enable per terminal, so a bug-fix terminal can carry strict instructions while an exploration terminal stays loose.
Automatic, Not Remembered
Active templates are appended when you send, so the instructions come along even when you would have forgotten to type them.
There When You Need It
Type @ to drop a single template in at the cursor for a one-off message, without opening Settings.
