Project Management

Start Agents on a Paired Computer From Your Phone

Pick a paired computer in the phone's Host picker and start any AI agent installed there, then answer its first-run questions with one tap. Trusting a folder or skipping a self-update no longer needs a trip back to the desk.

Why You Need This

How this feature boosts your daily productivity

A paired computer is often the one doing the long-running work, which is exactly the one you are not sitting at. Starting an agent there from the phone used to stop at the first question the CLI asked: trust this folder, or update before starting. With nobody at that keyboard, the terminal just waited. Now the phone can start an agent on the paired computer directly, with an Add Terminal sheet that offers only the AI agents detected there, and when the agent stops on a first-run question the phone names it and gives you the one button that answers it, such as Trust folder for Codex or Devin, Trust workspace for Cursor Agent, or Skip update for Codex and OpenCode.

How It Works

Get started in 4 simple steps

1
1

Choose the paired computer

Pick it in the phone's Host picker and open a project that lives there.

2
2

Open Add Terminal

The sheet names the project and the computer, and lists only the AI agents detected there.

3
3

Start on that computer

Tap Start on followed by the computer's name. It needs Operator or Admin access on the phone and the Start terminals grant on that computer.

4
4

Answer the first-run question

If the agent asks to trust the folder or offers to update itself, tap Trust folder, Trust workspace or Skip update.

Without 1DevTool

The manual way vs. the 1DevTool way

The Hard Way

# agent should run on the Mac mini
# you are away from it
# start it remotely somehow
# CLI asks: trust this folder?
# nobody there to answer -> it waits

The 1DevTool Way

Phone -> Host picker -> mac-mini
Add Terminal -> Codex
Start on mac-mini
Banner: trust this folder?
Tap Trust folder -> agent starts

Key Capabilities

Everything included with Start Agents on a Paired Computer From Your Phone

Start an AI agent on a paired computer from the phone
Offer only the agents actually installed on that computer
Answer a trust-this-folder prompt with one tap
Skip a Codex or OpenCode self-update from the phone
Respect Operator and Admin roles before anything starts

Why It Matters

The productivity impact of having project management built into your workspace

No Stranded Terminals

An agent that stops on a first-run question gets answered from your pocket instead of waiting for you to come home.

Only What Exists There

The sheet lists agents detected on that computer, so you can't start one that isn't installed.

Roles Still Apply

Only Operator or Admin phones can start agents, and the paired computer must grant Start terminals.
