Select & Merge Terminals
Tick several terminals at once, then combine their agent transcripts into a single briefed agent or close them together.
A long session scatters work across a dozen terminals. Selection mode makes the whole set addressable at once, so consolidating it is one action instead of a dozen copy-pastes.
Enter selection mode
Right-click any terminal and choose Select.
Checkboxes appear on every visible tab and pane, including mosaic tiles, and the terminal you right-clicked starts checked.
Ticking a box never switches the active terminal, so you can gather a selection while an agent is still streaming output.
The action bar counts what you have picked โ 3 of 8 selected โ with Select all / Deselect all beside it. Done or Esc leaves the mode.
While you are typing inside an agent's TUI, Esc still belongs to the agent.
Merge transcripts into one agent
Press Merge. The dialog combines the selected sessions into a single prompt and hands it to one agent.
Before anything is sent it shows you:
- every source terminal with its message count
- any terminal it could not attribute to a session, which will contribute no context
That second line matters. Attribution is exact โ the stored session id, or the process-owned detector โ and 1DevTool deliberately does not guess "the newest session in this project", because a wrong guess would hand the same transcript to every selected terminal. If a terminal shows as unattributed, send a prompt in it first, then merge again.
Choose the target under Merge into:

Tick Close the merged terminals afterwards and the sources close once the merge succeeds โ the target stays open.
Close a selection
Close asks once โ Close 3? โ then closes them together.
To clear a whole project instead, right-click the project and choose Close All Terminals. It confirms first, and Reopen Closed Terminal still works afterwards.
